"Skate Your Heart Out - 2013" Basic Skills Competition

@ The Ice Vault in Hallowell, Maine
1:30 - 4:45 pm
Greetings Skaters & Coaches!
Due to the USFS test session in the morning, the competition time has been shifted slightly to 1:30 – 4:45 pm. All times on the schedule are approximate, so please plan to arrive at the ice arena 1 hour before you are scheduled to skate. This will allow you to check in, get settled, and be prepared in case the competition is running ahead of schedule. The competition may run up to an hour ahead of schedule if there are cancellations, but it will never run more than one hour ahead. Locker rooms will be available.
*** The Ice Vault does not allow outside food and drink in the arena, and we ask that you honor this request. The snack bar will be open throughout the competition. ***
PRACTICE ICE:
There will be two 20 minute practice ice sessions offered for $10 each at approximately 1:30 – 1:50 pm and 3:05 – 3:25 pm. Please note: The second practice session will start when the event before it finishes – which may be slightly before or after 3:05. If you wish to purchase practice ice, please sign up and pay at the registration desk as you arrive.
MUSIC:
As a reminder, music for all free skating programs and showcase programs must be provided on CDs by the skater. CDs should be clearly marked with the name of the skater, event entered and length of music (not skating time). Competition music is to be turned in at the time of registration. Skaters should bring two copies of their music. Music will be provided for the ice dance events.
DIRECTIONS TO THE ICE VAULT:
From the South: North on I95/Maine Turnpike, take Exit 109a (formerly 31A), it’s the “Augusta Airport” exit, and follow signs at exit towards Winthrop (WEST), onto US-202/Western Ave. At the first traffic light, turn left onto the Whitten Rd. by the Turnpike Mall. Stay on the Whitten Rd. as it curls around (runs parallel to I95). The Ice Vault is .6 miles on right.
From the North: South on I95/Maine Turnpike take Exit 109B (formerly 31B). Follow signs at exit towards Winthrop (WEST), onto US-202 WEST/Western Ave. When coming off the exit move quickly into the left most lane. At the first traffic light, turn left onto the Whitten Rd. by the Turnpike Mall. Stay on the Whitten Rd. as it curls around (runs parallel to I95). The Ice Vault is .6 miles on right.
