Welcome back for what is sure to be another great season and WELCOME to SAM for all of our new families. Thank you for choosing The Skating Association of Maine for your hockey experience. SAM offers players of all ages an opportunity to learn and compete at the area's premier hockey facilities – The Bank of Maine Ice Vault. SAM welcomes players from all neighboring communities. We are a community-based, volunteer-governed, nonprofit organization designed to offer a structured, educational, and cost-effective hockey experience.

Lady Moose - Girls Mid-Season Development Team
Goal: Provide girls the opportunity to play on and against all girls team(s).
*Playing with female peers and the benefits that provides.
Time: Target start date is the first part of 2015, January into the end of March.
Levels: Girls Development (a Non MEAHA League Team) of 12U and 14U (based on interest of SAM
Team: One Team ( No Limit on the number of players)
Coaching: Head Coach will be selected by the SAM Coaches Advisory Committee. The Head Coach will
select their coaching staff.
Cost: About $185.00 (based on schedule (ice time) and number of players)
Payment due in full by the 1st practice of the Girls Team Practice.
Season: Are scrimmages/games within the MEAHA associations across the state, practices and one girls
tournament (in or out of state – TBD).
Projected Schedule* for 2014-2015 Season: 1 Tournament & 4-8 games (home ( @ The Ice Vault) and
away play arrangements vs. MEAHA associations in the state) & 5-8 practice ice at The Ice Vault.
· Final coaching staff & team will be approval by the SAM Hockey Steering Committee
· If there is a player/team question please direct them to the SAM Girls Director, SAM Hockey Players
Representative and/or SAM Hockey Coaching Director.
Key Dates for SAM Lady Moose Girls Mid-Season Development Team:
· December 1st - Sign ups open for the Mid-Season Development Team.
· December 29th - Last Day for Team Sign Ups
· By January 5th Team Players will be notified by the team Head Coach and posted on SAM website.
· Games start in January along with Practices– (Payment Due at first practice)
TEA FUNDRAISER: ends Friday 12/5 please get your orders to your team reps by this weekend to have in time for the holidays.
SAM APPAREL:-We have a great selection of SAM gear available (please check with your team rep if you have not seen the catalog). If you are planning to order your favorite hockey player some awesome stuff for the holidays please get your order into Elliot Office Products or your team rep by Friday 12/5 (or this weekend) to have in time for the holidays. Please note these items will be available throughout the season and can be ordered at a later date.

A LITTLE JINGLE COIN FUNDRAISER: Started this week and will run through December. Look for the containers in the warm room labeled Mites, Squirts, Peewee & Bantam. Donate your change (we take the green stuff too) to your team’s container!!
BANNER SPONSORSHIP: We have kicked off our banner sponsorship. Any businesses or individuals wishing to advertise at the rink please contact your team rep. Please check with friends/family that own a business to see if they may be interested in a banner at the rink.
MUGS: We will have SAM Moose mugs available during practice times. They are $12.00 and come with discounted prices coffee and hot chocolate at the Ice Box (.93cents plus tax).

The Skating Association of Maine (SAM) strives to provide an opportunity for every child who wants to play hockey or figure skate. The SAM Scholarship Fund is used to provide financial assistance to participants in SAM programs.
Assistance will vary based on funds available through the association and outside charitable contributions. All scholarship awards will be applied as credit to the skater’s account and are at the discretion of the SAM Scholarship Committee.

The 2014-2015 Registration process is now available online. All players will need to be registered online at the Hockey Registration tab. This registration process will also allow you to make payments online. You will need a sportngin account in order to complete the online registration. If you have previously registered on the SAM website with a sportngin account, you will use that user name and password. If not , please follow the instructions on how to create an account.
