2019 Officer Report

Treasurer's Report April 7, 2019

The Skating Association of Maine approaches the completion of the Fall/Winter season. We are happy to welcome SAM families throughout the state who participate in our programs. We thank the coaches, volunteers, families and friends that make our organization a success.
Fundraising events are a major part of our organization. They support our scholarship and education programs. The success of these events is contributed to the participation of families and friends with their continued efforts. We also recognize and express appreciation to the businesses and individuals that continue to support SAM.

Congratulations to all the SAM skaters for their achievements again this year. We are proud and happy for their success.

Happy Skating,
Sandra Prescott SAM Treasure

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MARKETING REPORT April 7, 2019
The Skating Association of Maine saw an increase in publicity this year through successful promotion of several events, including Skate your Heart Out, Skate with Santa, Spooktacular and craft fair. By way of media advisories, press releases and pitching, the media covered and promoted more SAM events, that led to an increase in attendance at many of the events.
The association also invested in promotional items to increase awareness for SAM, including t-shirt, pucks, pop sockets and a new game board for use at community events to attract more people to the booth or table and learn more about SAM’s programs.
SAM continues to improve it’s outreach and engagement with new members by using the website www.maineskaters.com and social media, including more Facebook Live videos.
